Some people like to do an extreme sport, a sport that is challenging and that gives them an adrenaline rush, but for these you need to train and exercise regularly. But there are sports fro which you don’t need to do all of this, one of which is bungee jumping. So… what is it? An individual sport, bungee jumping involves just that; jumping from a great height while connected to a long elastic cord (or bungee). The launching pad is usually erected on a tall structure such as a building, a bridge across a deep ravine, or on a cliff. This extreme sport was set up by AJ Hackett in New Zealand in 1986 and is now famous worldwide. In Europe, you can find more than 100 places where you can do a bungee jump some of which are really incredible. Here are 10 of the best, would you dare to try?
1. Contra Dam, Switzerland
The Contra Dam, also known as the Verzasca Dam and the Locarno Dam, is located on the Verzasca River in the Val Verzasca of Ticino, Switzerland. This place became famous for bungee jumping after the James Bond movie ‘Golden Eye’. With 220 m in height, it is known as the third highest bungee jump location in the world. Three, two ,one…ready?
2. Kolnbrein Dam, Austria
The Kolnbrein Dam was constructed between 1971 and 1979 and is 200 meters high making it the tallest dam in Austria. You can bungee jump from the Skywalk here between May and October, or just enjoy the beautiful view if you don’t want to jump.
3. Valgadena Bridge, Italy
Italy is known for its beautiful nature, food and much more but besides that, but you can also try bungee jumping from the country’s highest bridge. Here you can jump with your friends, your partner or just alone, good luck!
4. Europabrucke Bridge, Austria
The Europabrucke bridge is the fifth-highest bungee jump in the world. Back on October 3rd 1993, a guy named Rupert Hirner took the first jump from this bridge and after that, they officially opened for bungee jumps in September 1998.
5. Vidraru Dam, Romania
Vidraru Dam height is 166 meters and 305 meters long. It is perfect for a great bungee jump and was one of the first valley arch dams in Romania as well as the fifth largest dam in Europe. A pretty impressive place!
6. Interlaken, Switzerland
Can you imagine bungee jumping from the one of most beautiful places in Europe? Interlaken in Switzerland offers just that, a bungee jump with an amazing view. Visitors can jump from a cable car over the beautiful Stocksee mountains and lakes, definitely a memorable experience!
7. Donauturm Tower, Austria
Donauturm Tower was opened in April 1964 and is located near the north bank of the Danube River in the district of Donaustadt in Austria. It iss the tallest structure in Austria and is the 59th tallest tower in the world. You can bungee jump from this tower but unfortunately it is available only a few days a year, so be sure to plan it!
8. Souleuvre Viaduct, France
Viaduc de la Souleuvre is a partially demolished railway viaduct over the Souleuvre River in La Ferrière-Harang, Normandy, France and is now used for bungee jumping. This bungee jump location is also the highest bungee jump where you can touch the water, besides that you can also enjoy the beautiful view of Normandy.

10. Veglio – Pistolesa Bridge, Italy
