If the pandemic wasn’t here, everybody now would be busy planning the perfect 2022 party or New Year’s Eve dinner. But we all know that big gatherings and celebrations won’t be possible this year. Let’s have a look at the most popular options to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Brussels in normal times.
1. FCKNYE Festival Brussels
The FCKNYE festival is a music event organized in Brussels and Lyon each year. The festival is held at Palais 12, a popular venue located close to the Atomium. With its 10,000 m2, it is considered Belgium’s biggest event room. This big event attracts thousands of music fans enjoying the latest hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep hits, and several international artists.
2. Hard Rock Café
If you love a lively and musical atmosphere, you definitely have to book a place at the Hard Rock Café. Every year, the Café celebrates the New Year with an exclusive American-style dinner – including burgers and donuts – an open bar and a DJ live set. The evening starts with a rich dinner menu, and then moves on to the dance floor. The fabulous location of the Hard Rock Café must also be mentioned: it is right in the Grand Place, one of the most beautiful squares of the world!
3. Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel
Steigenberger Wiltcher’s is a luxury hotel situated on Avenue Louise, in the heart of the Belgian capital. If the coronavirus wasn’t here, the hotel would have probably organized a magical New Year’s Eve festive experience. Last year, their 3rd NYE was held in the ballroom of the prestigious hotel with the theme “Casablanca Night.” Guests could choose among three different options: the package “dinner & party”, the package “party only” and the “all-in room” package. Price ranged from €115 per person, to €460 for two people.
4. The happy Brussels Party Pass
The Happy Brussels Party Pass grants privileged access to all major clubs & parties for New Year’s Eve in Brussels. The pass includes more than 50 unique music venues, clubs and bars. The parties satisfy all tastes, ranging from house and electro to rock ‘n’ roll and hip-hop, as well as techno music. The Happy Brussels Party Pass is an initiative of the Brussels Tourism Office. It also includes your free entrance to the Atomium and to the Adam Museum.
5. Fireworks at the Atomium
And what about enjoying the fireworks at the Atomium? Every year, thousands of people gather together at one of the major landmarks of Brussels to celebrate the New Year. The fireworks show is normally preceded by a DJ set and a lights show to set the mood before the start of the fireworks spectacle at midnight.
6. Celebration at Palais de la Dynastie
This is another unique event in the heart of Brussels. Palais de la Dynastie organizes a night of dinner, dancing and champagne atop the Mont des Arts, one of the most stunning locations in Brussels. Last year, guests could either join the party for dinner, or go later to dance and sing along with the biggest pop hits from the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and current years.
7. Music Village
If you prefer jazz music and a quieter environment rather than techno and pop music, the Music Village club would be the perfect choice for you! The club organizes for jazz lovers an amazing evening of fine dining and dancing, together with live jazz performances.
