What’s better than watching your favourite movie over and over again? Watching your favourite movie over and over again while holding one of its main characters’ sword or while being dressed in their cult outfit of course. That seems to good to be true and sure, for many of us it will forever remain a dream. But some ultimate fans – or some with a well-filled bankaccount – may be doing just that in a couple of weeks. The newest Propstore Auction is called Entertainment Memorabilia and has some of movie history’s finest props up for sale.
From November 9th until November 12th, Propstore’s newest auction will set up camp in London for four days of film, tv and music history. No less than 1,800 items will go up for sale, with starting prices going from 25 pounds, for a 35 mm movie trailer reel from the promotion of Ronny Yu’s horror crossover Freddy vs. Jason, all the way up to 250,000 pounds, for a screen-matched, light-up C-3PO head from George Lucas’ Star Wars: A New Hope. Meaning that no matter your budget, if you’re motivated enough to sit through it all, you’ll probably find a prop fit for your wallet.
What’s on offer?
We’ve already talked about two items that will go up for sale during the auction, but there’s much more to say about the movie relics that will be available. One of our favourites, perhaps, is Leonardo DiCaprio’s outfit from when he played Jack Dawson in the movie Titanic. The vest dates back to August 1996 and is therefore starting to be considered vintage. Estimated price: between 100,000 and 200,000 pounds.
Another gem comes from the movie Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks’ Nike sneakers might have seen better days and might not be very presentable to wear to work, but then again, Hanks won an Oscar for Best Actor for the 1994 blockbuster. Maybe that’s worth putting your feet into some smelly old sneakers? Estimated price: between 15,000 and 30,000 pounds.
There are only a few stories where a pair of shoes are so key to the narrative, but these trainers from Forrest Gump are a symbol of perseverance as he ran across America – and stopped to tell his tale a few times along the way.

For those who were born a bit later and don’t feel a big connection to the nineties, don’t worry, there’s something for you too. What about Arya’s sword, Needle, from the already cult tv series Game of Thrones for example? Estimated price: between 5,000 and 10,000 pounds.
