Last Thursday November 4, in Brussels, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Belgium organized a cycle of events dedicated to the tourism potential of the country.
Representatives of foreign travel agencies, public organizations, mass media, and compatriots, who live in Belgium have attended the event.
The participants were informed about the economic and tourism potential of Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms carried out in the fields, the conditions created for foreign tourists.
Tourism in Uzbekistan has become a strategic sphere of the national economy and is developing rapidly, the reforms carried out demonstrate the openness of our country to the outside world. This is reflected in the rapid growth of the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan and an increase in the volume of foreign investment.

In addition, representatives of the tourism companies and mass media participating in the event said that the government pays special attention to the full use of the country’s historically favorable opportunities for the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabs the samples of historical and cultural heritage of World importance stored in these cities have been. Over 8,000 architectural monuments, 200 of them located in 4 cities on the list of UNESCO World Heritage.
In particular, the project manager of the magazine Diplomatic World Mr. Alberto Turkstra, who recently participated as an international observer in the Presidential elections in Uzbekistan, witnessed the existence of all opportunities in Uzbekistan to occupy a worthy place in the international tourism market. “The rich and varied cuisine of the Uzbek people is one of the strongest factors attracting the attention of even the most sensitive tourists from any part of the world. Therefore, in your country you are waiting for tourists not only hospitality and a high level of service, but also delicious dishes, which are the best examples of culinary art” concluded Turkstra.
The event also included the presentation of the book «Non» (meaning bread in Uzbek). The author of the book is the world famous chef and world-class gourmet Bahriddin Chustiy, famous for cooking 7 tons of Uzbek pilaf, which was included in the Guinness World Records.
The participants of the meeting were informed about the history and types of Uzbek hot breads, know-how of their preparation and traditions of weighing at the table. The book, which includes more than 50 types of bread, was told to serve the development of Uzbek hospitality tourism abroad.
At the end of the event, various national food, sweets and drinks were presented for the visitors. The guests once again recognized the taste of Uzbek cuisine, Uzbek Pilaf was a royal food among them.
