London is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with many activities to do and attractions to see. It is the capital of the United Kingdom and one of the biggest cities in the world. When I got the chance to visit London, I was very excited because it was on my bucket list since a long time… And going from Brussels to London by train isn’t that far anyway.
My first impression of London was that it is a really BIG CITY. I spent 4 days there, but I think it isn’t enough to explore all the busy places of this city. Of course, as a tourist, I had prepared a list of places that I wanted to visit. The first one was the “London Eye”. Actually I was quite afraid of the height, and the line to get up there was very long, but it was absolutely worth it!
Back then when I visited, the Big Ben was under renovation, but it was still really beautiful and impressive. I visited also Buckingham Palace, the Madame Tussauds London Museum, Sea Life pool, the British Museum, and the Tower Bridge. I was super happy to visit the Chinatown area. There, I found an Indonesian restaurant serving super delicious food.
Moving around in London is very easy: I used the bus and the famous Underground (btw, do you know that the London Underground exists from January 1863? Amazing!). But I also walked a lot. During the night London is even more fascinating, especially nearby the River Thames. I had also the time to make some shopping in Harrods – the very famous store – and to visit the “Harry Potter gate.” Do you know the secret words? I will tell you in another article…
Here are some of the pictures taken during my visit. For sure I’ll go back to see all the other places.
