American rapper Will.i.am wants to convert Covid-19 masks into a gadget every one must have in the uncertain times we live in, and has announced the launch of a new mask. The Xupermask is a technological protective mask with multi-speed fans and HEPA filters, a type of mechanical air filtration. It has Bluetooth technology, LED day lights, earphones and microphone with sound cancellation, a seven-hour battery life, and adjustable straps. The earphones also have a magnetic storage system.
The rapper, who became known around the world with the Black Eyed Peas, announced via his Instagram account the launch of the new mask.
The Xupermask was designed by will.i.am in partnership with Honeywell and the mastery of Jose Fernandez, the designer who was in charge of the suits for Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Over the years, the rapper has made several investments in the tech world, such as in Tesla and Beat Electronics, and has also become chief innovation officer at Intel. The masks were officially launched on Thursday, April 8th, for about 250 euros but they were quickly sold out.
