Qatar Airways’ mobile application allows passengers to easily plan their journey, helping to minimize physical contact and human interactions.
By downloading the app, all members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club will earn 1,000 Qmiles.
The Qatar Airways mobile app has recently been updated. It now has a unique new design, with a personalized home screen which provides relevant information. The app feature called ‘My Trips’ will now be displayed on the home screen, highlighting the most important information of the upcoming flights. For clients with no current bookings, special tailor-made offers will be displayed.
Moreover, the app is now available in Arabic.
According to Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, the updated mobile app allows clients to better manage their travel plans, be informed at all times and, most importantly, limit physical contact during their trip.
“At Qatar Airways, we continue to invest in award-winning, five-star products and services across all stages of our customers’ journey, and digital technology plays an important role in this,” he added.
Using the ‘MyTrips’ feature on the home screen, passengers can now select in advance their preferred seat and meals, check-in online, download the boarding pass, and generate a tag to attach to their baggage at home.
The app also sends notifications about important alerts on departure times, check-in, boarding and baggage collection. The mobile app can be used to track baggage, as well as to book Meet and Assist services at Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Through the app it is also possible to check the latest information on country and travel requirements, including visa and passport information. It also includes a camera tool, which allows passengers to take a photo of their passport or payment card without having to manually enter this information.
All members of Qatar Airways’ loyalty program, Privilege Club, can log in using their fingerprint or facial recognition, book their trip using cash or Qmiles, redeem awards, and much more.
Qatar Airways is a multiple award-winning carrier. It was named ‘World’s Best Airline’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, ‘World’s Best Business Class’ and ‘Best Business Class Seat’.
In this climate of insecurity, the airline started allowing unlimited date changes. Moreover, passengers can change their destination as often as they need if it is within 5,000 miles of the original one. Qatar Airways will not charge any fare differences for any journey completed within the end of 2020. Additionally, all tickets booked for travel up to 31 December 2020 will be valid for two years from the date of issuance.
The airline has implemented strict safety measures for passengers and cabin crew. The cabin crew has been provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes gloves, masks, glasses and a protective gown that covers the uniforms. The service has been modified to reduce the interactions between passengers and cabin crew. All passengers are provided with a complimentary protective kit which includes a single-use face mask, disposable gloves and hand sanitizer gel. Recenty the carrier also introduced shields for passengers to wear while onboarding, during the flight, and when disembarking.
Qatar Airways now operates over 500 weekly flights to more than 75 destinations.
