European Sleeper and RegioJet announced that a new night train service running from Brussels to Prague would start operating from next year. The train would make stop overs in cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden and Prague.
The train is expected to leave Brussels early in the evening and arrive in the Czech capital the following morning. The kick-off date is currently planned for the spring of 2022.
European Sleeper is part of the movement that put the overnight sleeper train back on the European map. It was founded by two entrepreneurs with a great passion for sleeper trains: Elmer van Buuren of Train2EU and Chris Engelsman of Noord West Express.
I’ve been fascinated by sleeper trains since childhood. Boarding in the Netherlands in the evening, sleeping in a proper bed and waking up in the morning in another world.
Elmer van Buuren, Train2EU
According to the Brussels Times, the plan is to start with three connections a week, before moving on to offering a daily service. The fare has not yet been decided, but the aim is to remain competitive with flights. Travelers will be able to select standard seats, as well as sleeping berths.
