MGM Resorts owns several properties on the famous Las Vegas Strip, a known destination for partying and gambling in the USA. The chain recently announced the reopening dates of The Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas, its last two hotels to reopen following the Covid-19 pandemic. However the announcement came with another revelation; as of September 30th, The Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas casino hotel resorts will be smoke-free, becoming the first non-smoking casino on the Vegas Strip.
As we looked toward our reopening, we identified an opportunity to be responsive to recurring guest demand for a fully non-smoking casino resort on The Strip. With an expansive Las Vegas portfolio, MGM Resorts is able to offer an array of options for visitors, all within the MGM Resorts family.
Anton Nikodemus, President of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas Portfolio, in the company’s statement
The Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas remain the only smoke-free casino resorts in the MGM portfolio, and plans to expand the idea have not been mentioned. We may have to wait and see how the move is received by guests to the hotels to know whether this change will extend to other hotels.
