Luxury hospitality brand Aman is set to open its first hotel in Mexico on 1 August, marking the company’s debut in one of the world’s fastest-growing luxury travel markets.
The new resort, Amanvari, is located on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, a region renowned for its rugged desert landscapes and pristine coastline along the Sea of Cortés. The opening comes as Mexico continues to attract growing numbers of international visitors and heightened global attention in the wake of the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted across North America.
The resort will offer 18 standalone casitas positioned along the beachfront, near an estuary and among palm groves overlooking the sea and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. Each accommodation includes a private heated pool and outdoor terrace.

The property’s name combines the Sanskrit words for “peace” and “water,” reflecting Aman’s focus on privacy, wellness and nature-based experiences. Set within a 1,500-acre estate with three miles of swimmable shoreline, Amanvari offers a range of outdoor activities including hiking, horseback riding, snorkelling and diving.
Amanvari will also feature an extensive wellness programme, including six treatment rooms, two hydrotherapy facilities equipped with a banya (a Russian steam bath) and hammam (Turkish steam bath), a contemporary temazcal sweat lodge and a 24-hour fitness centre. Dining options will include the Japanese restaurant Sesui, Italian venue Arva and Luma, which specialises in open-fire cooking, alongside a lounge serving cocktails and light fare.
Reservations for the resort opened in May, with Aman promoting a special opening package for stays during August that includes airport transfers and a welcome bottle of champagne.

The launch represents a significant milestone for Aman, which was founded in 1988 and has built a reputation for operating small-scale ultra-luxury resorts in secluded destinations around the world. The company currently operates properties across Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, with Amanvari becoming its first location in Mexico.
Despite its secluded East Cape setting, the resort remains easily accessible, with San José del Cabo International Airport less than an hour away and offering both domestic and international connections. Guests can also benefit from dedicated FBO services (private jet facilities) and a private terminal via PrimeSky, while the concierge team arranges seamless transfers and end-to-end travel support from arrival at the resort.
The opening also highlights the growing appeal of Baja California Sur’s East Cape, a quieter alternative to the more heavily developed tourist zones around Cabo San Lucas. The resort is expected to appeal to travellers seeking a more secluded experience on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
