Hyatt Hotels Corporation has unveiled plans for a brand new resort in the Maldives, set to open in late 2027.
Conveniently located in the Republic’s capital Malé and only 25 minutes away from Valena International Airport by speedboat, the villa-based resort coming soon to North Malé Atoll, will give guests the chance to stay in close proximity to prime surfing destinations like Pasta Point and Sultans, as well as popular diving and snorkelling sites where manta rays and hawksbill turtles can be spotted nearby.
130 beachfront villas with private pools
Whether sun-seekers, culture lovers, honeymooners, or marine enthusiasts, guests will be accommodated in 130 beachfront, treetop, and overwater villas, all with a private pool. Designed by Park + Associates, the accommodation will draw on traditional Maldivian vernacular with a “light and natural palette”, a press release said. Renderings show inviting low-slung decked walkways weaving among into sapphire waters.
On site, a sunset bar, a beach club, a Japanese restaurant, and an all-day-dining offering will be at guests’ disposal, as well as “a kids’ club, a marine and diving centre, a fitness pavilion, a yoga deck, and a spa with eight dedicated treatment rooms will cater to guests of all ages and interests.”
Pricing and offers
The Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be Hyatt’s third in the Maldives. Still, despite a global portfolio in over 230 locations and 40 countries around the world, it will be a first for Regency-branded hotels on the Indian Ocean archipelago.
While pricing and World of Hyatt award redemptions are not yet available, overall the offering “will presumably be a slightly more affordable option than its ultraluxurious Park Hyatt and Alila siblings,” the Points Guy predicts.
World of Hyatt Globalists and guests who book villas with club access will also have access to complimentary refreshments in the signature Regency Club lounge.
“One of world’s most desirable resort destinations”
Development group SingHaiyi has signed a management agreement with Hyatt to partner on the project. They are “excited to collaborate with Hyatt to develop a resort which will embody the elements of the Hyatt Regency brand that guests appreciate,” said executive director Mr. Gallant Tang.
Meanwhile David Udell, Hyatt group president, Asia Pacific, said “We’re thrilled to collaborate with SingHaiyi to invite travelers to open their minds and hearts to new perspectives and experiences in the Maldives, one of world’s most desirable resort destinations.”
