As private jet usage and ownership continues to rise, hospitality giant Four Seasons has launched a private jet experience to piggyback on the trend.
The aircraft, fully serviced by Four Seasons, will be available for charter for a limited time only this summer and coming winter. From 4 August to 26 August, and 20 December to 27 December, 2024, the “extraordinary opportunity to charter the Four Seasons Private Jet for the first time” will involve would-be guests working with the operator to tailor an itinerary to their preferences.
Custom flights versus the climate
The commercial move comes “in response to the many inquiries we have received from families and groups of friends interested in custom itineraries and travelling for celebratory events,” said Marc Speichert, Four Seasons’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
However, making private jet hire part of your business strategy is a venture bound to cause criticism on the emissions and climate front and raise questions about equality issues in mobility – something that was cited by French policy makers as a key driver for their crackdown on private jet usage and short flights.
$115,000 per day to charter
When booked to capacity for 48 guests and 10 crew, the custom-made Airbus A321neoLR costs approximately $ 115,000 per day to charter. There are options for ground accommodation and activities in Four Seasons hotels and resorts, as well as selected alternatives where required. The price also includes all meals made in-flight by an executive chef, and onboard and airport services. Transfer assistance, accommodation, and tours can be added on for additional fees.
The new bespoke cruise of the air follows previous Four Seasons air cruise experiences. But here, on their private charter, passengers will find flatbed leather seats for all, a sky lounge for socialising, and global Wi-Fi. Even the air they will breathe is renewed every two to three minutes by a cutting edge, “hospital-grade” system to filter and remove 99.9% of particles, viruses and bacteria.
“With the added bonus of Four Seasons genuine care and service in the sky and on the ground, all one needs to do is sit back and enjoy the journey with your favourite people,” Speichert added.
Imaginative itineraries
In case would-be flyers are lacking in imagination about how to personalise their flight or gift their loved ones to a once-in-a-lifetime treat, Four Seasons Private Jet Director of Guest Experience Chenin Mathews, suggests thinking about itineraries inspired by favourite film or TV locations. Alternatively flyers could use the charter opportunity to make it to their favourite sporting events around the world. In addition to the summer offer, the availability of the jet for use over the December holiday makes a personalised ski tour, taking in the best Christmas market cities of Europe a possibility.
Nonetheless, flyers cannot just let their travel fantasies run riot. Certain restrictions apply to flight lengths and domestic routes in some countries.
