Disneyland Resort has announced the start date and events for its 70th anniversary celebration, along with a new calendar of events and festivals for 2025. The 70th anniversary celebrations will kick off on 16 May 2025, and continue through the summer of 2026.
Themed “Celebrate Happy,” the events will feature a mix of beloved favourites and exciting new attractions. Firstly, on 16 May 2025, visitors will experience the debut of Walt Disney – A Magical Life. This immersive experience will take guests on a cinematic journey through Walt Disney’s life, culminating in an Audio-Animatronics representation of Walt in his office. This marks the first time such a detailed portrayal of Walt Disney has been brought to life using this technology. The attraction will debut at the Main Street Opera House theatre at Disneyland Park.
To mark this milestone, the Paint the Night parade will make a return to the Disneyland Park, featuring colourful floats, vibrant costumes, special effects, and dazzling LED lights.
Inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the park’s opening day 70 years ago, “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”, the World of Colour show will explore the concept of “happy” through the lens of various emotions, hosted by Joy and other characters from the beloved Disney film Inside Out. Visitors will be guided through moments and music from animated classics such as Tangled, The Lion King, and Turning Red, among others.
Wondrous Journeys will also return to Disneyland Park in honour of the 70th anniversary, celebrating the timeless legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classics that have shaped Disney’s magical kingdom. This enchanting show will take attendees on a journey that blends music, storytelling, and emotion, bringing to life memorable moments from films such as Peter Pan, Frozen, Encanto, and Hercules. As part of this celebration, the parade Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! will return to the streets of Disney California Adventure. The parade will feature dynamic floats, music, and nearly 30 characters from Pixar films like Up and Luca.
To make the experience even more special, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will greet guests in Disneyland Park’s Town Square, dressed in costumes specially designed for the occasion. In celebration of the anniversary, an upbeat new theme song, “Celebrate Happy,” will be featured across a variety of entertainment offerings throughout the resort.
In addition to the excitement of these events, there will be brand-new interactive experiences and activities designed to immerse visitors in the spirit of celebration. Guests will also enjoy exclusive 70th anniversary merchandise, special themed dining experiences, and limited-time photo opportunities that will only be available during the anniversary period.
