Europe’s largest airline by passenger numbers is being investigated by UK competition authorities for charging parents for seats next to their children on flights. The Competition and Markets Authority said it was looking at fare structures imposed on parents by Ryanair to see whether the fee charged for a parent-child seat combination are “unfair.”

Ryanair’s terms of carriage state that a parent must be seated next to any of their children who are aged between two and 11 years old. The mandatory “family seating” policy means people flying with kids typically pay £8 (around €9) more than other fliers each way, the CMA said.

We’re investigating Ryanair over its practice of charging parents to sit with their children – including those with disabilities – and whether this could be unfair under consumer protection law.

Read more: https://t.co/m06825a79J
— Competition & Markets Authority (@CMAgovUK) June 11, 2026

Noting that Ryanair is the only major airline to charge parents in this way, with its rivals usually automatically booking parents and children together, the investigation will focus on the budget Irish carrier’s “approach to seat reservations” and whether the terms of carriage “mean parents are being charged for the airline to meet its child safety and disability‑related obligations as set out under aviation rules,” the CMA explained.

The scrutiny will consider “whether or not this practice is in line with consumer law,” taking into account the way extra fees are not always apparent to consumers during the booking process, where customers should be shown the total price upfront.

The UK consumer champion Which? has welcomed the CMA announcement, with travel editor Rory Boland, calling its terms and conditions “unreasonable” and a “harsh approach to separating families and making parents pay a fee to sit next to children as young as three.”

@netmums The row over whether you should have to pay for reserved seats when flying with your kids has stepped up a gear… @Ryanair ♬ original sound – Netmums

But the airline has rejected the idea that its policy disadvantages anyone, calling the investigation “bogus.” It said adults travelling with children pay for one reserved seat but can use the same fee to “select reserved seats beside them for up to four children on the same booking FREE OF CHARGE. This means that parents travelling with children pay for only one (adult) reserved seat but pay nothing for the four other reserved seats for their children travelling with them,” it highlighted.

In its response, Ryanair also took a political swing at the UK’s current Labour government which has so far not succumbed to airline demands for UK APD (air passenger duty) to be abolished—a saving the carrier says could be passed on to consumers to boost confidence and spending. Abandoning or lowering APD “would immediately deliver lower fares for all consumers and growth for the UK aviation, tourism and wider economy,” the carrier said.

There is no indication yet of the outcome of the investigation or when it will conclude.

Mobile connectivity on UK trains is still not reliable enough for everyday use, according to a new study by the communications regulator Ofcom. Many passengers experience weak or unstable internet while travelling, making it difficult to stream videos, scroll social media, or join video calls. The findings suggest that, for a large part of the journey, travellers are effectively disconnected from the digital world. As more people use train journeys to work remotely or stay connected on the move, internet access is increasingly becoming part of the overall travel experience.

Ofcom measured mobile performance across 24 sections of railway lines in England, Scotland and Wales. The regulator found that mobile performance was poor in between 58% and 83% of tests carried out on trains. It assessed whether passengers could reliably perform common online activities such as making video calls, browsing social media and streaming content. According to the regulator, “for too many people, stepping on board can mean going off grid”.

The study also revealed significant differences between mobile operators, although none delivered consistently strong results. EE achieved the best performance, meeting Ofcom’s standards on 42% of the railway segments tested. Three followed with 21%, while O2 and Vodafone achieved 20% and 17% respectively. Even the strongest-performing network therefore failed to meet the regulator’s benchmark on most routes.

To assess performance, Ofcom used a threshold that reflects basic modern internet use. A connection needed to deliver a download speed of five megabits per second, an upload speed of 1.5 megabits per second and a response time of 50 milliseconds. These speeds are considered the minimum required for activities such as video calls, streaming and social media browsing. Despite this relatively modest benchmark, networks often failed to achieve it during rail journeys.

Some routes performed considerably better than others. The line between London Victoria and East Croydon delivered the strongest results, particularly for EE customers, while O2 and Vodafone also performed well on that route. At the other end of the scale, the route between Basingstoke and Coventry, via Reading and Oxford, ranked among the weakest. Rural and intercity passengers were also found to experience poorer service than those travelling through cities and urban areas. Connectivity further deteriorated during peak commuting periods when more people were connected simultaneously.

© Ofcom

Train Wi-Fi proved to be an even bigger problem. Ofcom found that onboard Wi-Fi performed well only 1% of the time. Many train operators still rely on outdated technology that struggles to meet current passenger demands. In addition, some services limit internet speeds to manage network capacity, which can further affect the user experience. As a result, travellers often find themselves switching between weak mobile data and unreliable onboard Wi-Fi.

The reasons behind poor train connectivity are not limited to mobile operators alone. Mobile signals from masts are often weaker along railway corridors, especially in less populated areas. The design of trains can also affect performance. Metal carriage structures and specially coated windows can partially block mobile signals from reaching passengers inside. Older rolling stock can make the problem worse, while double-decker trains are also known to create additional signal challenges.

The findings highlight a challenge that is not unique to the UK. Maintaining stable internet connections on moving trains has long been difficult across Europe, particularly on routes that pass through rural areas. However, expectations have changed significantly in recent years. Travellers increasingly use their journey time to work, attend online meetings, access travel information and stay in contact with family and colleagues.

© Ofcom

Industry groups say improving connectivity requires both investment and regulatory support. Mobile UK, which represents the country’s major operators, said there are “unique structural and capacity challenges” to maintaining reliable service on trains. At the same time, telecom companies argue that improvements are already being made. “Nobody is investing more in the UK’s networks than BT,” a spokesperson for BT Group said, adding that the company expects to invest more than £40 billion this decade to strengthen connectivity across the country.

The UK government is now exploring new ways to address the issue. The Department for Transport plans to invest £57 million in improving connectivity through satellite technology on trains. The project would allow trains to connect to low-Earth-orbit satellites rather than relying solely on 4G and 5G networks. Meanwhile, Ofcom is calling for closer cooperation between telecom operators, local authorities, developers and government bodies. Natalie Black, Ofcom’s group director for infrastructure and connectivity, said: “We are determined to play our part and will work closely with industry, government, local authorities and others to break down barriers standing in the way of progress.” According to Black, such cooperation is needed to improve connectivity, support economic growth and ensure passengers receive the level of service they expect.

A UK aviation hub with nearly a century of flying history has handled its final commercial passenger flight, ahead of redevelopment into an industrial premises. Coventry Airport, a Warwickshire hub serving the Midlands region, closed on 11 June 2026.

Staff operating the airport’s last passenger flight on 5 June may never forget the occasion, since it involved some special guests. Members of the famous 1990s British boy band Take That were aboard, having been in the city performing their Circus Live tour.

Writing on social media platform Facebook, the airport said: “Those nice gentlemen from ‘Take That’ flew into Coventry Airport this evening and when they found out that they were our last ever passengers on our last booked commercial flight prior to closing, they insisted on a photograph with the ground crew to mark the occasion.”

As previously reported by Travel Tomorrow, Coventry Airport started life as Baginton Aerodrome in 1936 and became a fighter airfield during the Second World War. It was damaged in Hitler’s devastating 1940 Coventry Blitz. As well as military service, it has witnessed almost every aspect of aviation, from cargo to medical, and commercial passenger traffic, as well as the rise of package holidays to Austria, Italy, and Spain in the eighties, and budget flights to Poland with Wizz from the 2000s.

The boys from Take That are not the only famous guests. On his only trip to the UK in 1982, Pope John Paul II held Mass for around 350,000 people there. The hub is also home to the Midlands Air Museum.

But planning permission has already been approved for a battery manufacturing plant on the site, which is being rebaptised as Greenpower Park. Greenlit in 2022, the partnership between Coventry City Council and Coventry Airport received a £23-million (€26.6-million) cash injection from West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) in January 2025.

Designed to give the area what former city councillor Jim O’Boyle called “an economic lift” and create over 30,000 jobs, the €2.5-billion venture forms part of a wider West Midlands Investment Zone, with manufacturing sites at Coventry and Warwick Gigapark, Birmingham Knowledge Quarter, and the Wolverhampton Green Innovation Corridor.

In contrast, stakeholders at another historic UK hub, Manston Airport in Kent, have been consulting on a possible reopening. Investment firm RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) has described plans there as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver new runway capacity to support the UK air cargo market and to transform the economic landscape in East Kent.”

On Sunday, 7 June 2026, a UK domestic flight heading from Guernsey to Manchester was forced to make an emergency landing. A cracked windscreen was reportedly the cause of the diversion.

Aurigny flight GR678 took off from Guernsey at 5:17 pm on Sunday, 7 June 2026. Expected to land at Manchester approximately one hour later, the ATR 72 aircraft suddenly made a U-turn when flying near Basingstoke in Hampshire and made an emergency landing at Southampton airport shortly after.

According to the British news outlet The Independent, the short-haul propeller plane experienced a mid-air windscreen cracking, forcing it to cut its flight short.

“In line with standard operating procedures, the flight crew carried out a precautionary emergency landing. Passengers and crew are safe and well,” Guernsey-based Aurigny said in a statement.

The carrier also added that a bus had been arranged in order to take the on-board passengers from Southampton to Manchester. While it is unclear how many passengers were flying on the aircraft at the time of the incident, the ATR 72 aircraft has a maximum capacity of 72.

A different plane was made ready by Aurigny to make the return journey from Manchester to Guernsey, a self-governing British Crown Dependency located in the English Channel. At the time of writing in June 2026, Aurigny was operating a fleet of seven active aircraft, including five ATR 72-600 regional turboprops.

Aurigny throughout 2026

2026 has been an eventful year for Aurigny. On 26 March, approximately one month after the start of the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, the airline announced it had made some schedule and capacity adjustments on selected routes and dates between mid-April and early June 2026. Flights to and from London City airport were reduced, services to and from South-West England were to be combined between Exeter and Bristol, and many of the flights to and from Paris were pushed back until June.

“Amid heightened global instability, bookings for travel during this period have been slower than anticipated at a time when some travellers may be reassessing their immediate travel plans. At present, bookings for May are approximately 13% below last year, when comparing routes the airline has operated during both years”, the carrier explained at the time.

However, since then, Aurigny and Visit Guernsey launched a joint campaign to promote Guernsey as “The Simplest Way to Feel a World Away” on 1 May. A similar initiative in 2025 had already proven to be effective, causing a 12% in air travellers in 2025 compared to 2024.

“Having a national airline working in close partnership with a national tourism marketing organisation is a rare combination, and one that provides a strong recipe for success – something clearly demonstrated by our 2025 results. We see Visit Guernsey as an extension of our own team, united by a shared ambition to deliver for the islands,” said Sam Talbot, Head of Marketing for Aurigny.

Finally, on 12 May 2026 and despite the global jet fuel crisis, Aurigny announced the strengthening of its Southampton base through the growth of its local operations. Overall, 18 Aurigny staff members have covered all aspects of customer service and ground handling at Southampton Airport.

On 31 May 2026, a new stargazing experience opened its doors in the heart of Northumberland National Park in the United Kingdom. The Kielder Observatory, the Twice Brewed Inn, and actor Robson Green have joined forces in order to bring a new state-of-the-art location for the public to enjoy.

Since 2013, Northumberland National Park – which covers approximately a quarter of the county – has officially been designated as a Dark Sky Park. This means it is considered a conservation area that implements good outdoor lighting and provides dark sky programs, thus offering excellent conditions for both wildlife and stargazing fanatics.

Located in the heart of Northumberland National Park, Kielder Observatory has been offering stargazing experiences for over fifteen years. After the observatory first partnered with the Twice Brewed Inn near Hadrian’s Wall in 2025, they have now launched an entirely new stargazing experience at the pub together with Northumberland-born actor and presenter Robson Green, who gave his name to the ‘Robson’s Reflector’, the Inn’s brand-new reflective telescope.

“There’s something incredibly special about the skies in Northumberland. They make you stop, reflect and feel connected to something much bigger than yourself. Places like Kielder Observatory at Twice Brewed Inn help people experience that wonder first-hand, while also shining a light on this incredible part of the country. I’m delighted to be part of the launch,” Robson Green said.

The Kielder Observatory and the Twice Brewed Inn will function as two distinct but complementary experiences. Visitors will find a 30-seat planetarium and state-of-the-art telescopes at the pub, as well as “great food, award-winning ales, warm hospitality, and luxury accommodation.”

“Kielder Observatory has always been about creating moments of inspiration, wonder and reflection through the night sky, while making astronomy accessible to everyone. This new location allows us to reach even more people – from families and tourists to schools and communities who may never otherwise have the opportunity to engage with astronomy in this way – and create a different kind of experience combining our incredible team with the food, drink, and warm welcome of Twice Brewed Inn right next door. Northumberland’s dark skies are one of the region’s greatest natural assets, and we’re incredibly proud to continue building experiences that support tourism, education and inspiration,” said Kielder Observatory CEO Leigh Venus.

From June 2026 onwards, the pub offers a range of stargazing-themed events. From Celestial Events over Universe Full of Stars to Journey into the Cosmos and Aurora at the Inn:

Just like the night sky, the theme of the events will also change depending on the season.

Visitors can book their favourite option(s) through the Twice Brewed Inn’s website. Tickets for adults generally amount to £34.50 (€39.87) for the stargazing alone, while adding supper will bring the total price for the evening to £62 (€71.65). Every event also supports Kielder Observatory’s charitable mission, dedicated to making astronomy accessible to all.

A stretch of United Kingdom coastline that has been closed to the public for almost two decades could become accessible again if new legislation put to parliament by a local politician is passed.

Newhaven West Beach in East Sussex is situated on the UK’s southern shores near the ferry terminal town of Newhaven, where passenger boats connect to Dieppe. The shoreline was closed in 2008 by the French owners of Newhaven Port and Properties. They judged the beach to be too dangerous for the public to use. Over the years they have cited high seas, dangerous cliffs, port activity, and expensive maintenance as reasons for their decision.

Like other beaches along the same stretch of “Sunshine Coast” between the historic resorts of Brighton and Eastbourne, Newhaven West features crumbling chalk cliffs and would require wall and pathway work to keep safe. Unlike many of those other beaches, Newhaven West benefits from a golden sandy shoreline, making it potentially very popular and giving Newhaven (a small town often cited as a coastal “pocket of poverty”) a new lease of life.

Nearby residents, and French sympathisers, have long argued that the beach is a generational asset that everyone should have the right to enjoy. In the past, protests have taken place there, including a “mass trespass” in 2014, after a Court of Appeal ruling that deemed the beach to be the equivalent of a “village green” (a legally protected open space at the heart of towns and villages for community use), because it had been in constant use by the public for over 20 years. At the time, the protests proved unsuccessful.

Now though, local Member of Parliament James MacCleary has formulated the “Newhaven West Beach (Public Access) Bill, to enshrine that right of public access in national law.

In a statement the MP said: “17 years ago, this beach was closed to the people of Newhaven. For generations, the West Beach was where children learned to swim, families spent their summer and memories were made. Parents who played there as children have never been able to take their own children there – mine included. That is a real loss.” MacCleary described the beach as “not just a stretch of sand; it was a part of life.” He urged fellow parliamentarians to “take this bill, adopt it, make it law and give Newhaven its beach back.”

Although MacCleary acknowledges that “safety and harbour operations matter,” if he succeeds in gaining enough support for the measure, the Port Authority would be forced to undertake the necessary work and allow the public to use the beach once again.

Other moves are already afoot to transform the seaside spot in line with its more famous neighbouring resorts, including a £7.5-million refurbishment of Newhaven Fort as well as a splash park, children’s play zone, outdoor fitness facilities, and a new eatery.

A new The Beatles experience is coming to London. The band’s former headquarters and the location of their last public performance in 1969, 3 Savile Row, is being transformed into an immersive fan experience set to open in 2027.

On 11 May 2026, Apple Corps Ltd, the company founded by The Beatles, announced it would be opening an official seven-floor fan experience on 3 Savile Row. The central London location is well-known to avid fans of the pop group; not only did it serve as Apple Corps Ltd headquarters from 1968 to 1972, but it was also the location where Let It Be was recorded and where The Beatles gave their last public performance on 30 January 1969.

“It was such a trip to get back to 3 Savile Row recently and have a look around. There are so many special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop. The team have put together some really impressive plans, and I’m excited for people to see it when it’s ready,” Paul McCartney said about the upcoming project.

The concert on 30 January 1969 has since become an important part of music history. In the middle of the day and after insistence by group member John Lennon, The Beatles gave their last public performance from the rooftop of 3 Savile Row. The gig, which included songs such as Don’t Let Me Down, I’ve Got A Feelin’, and Get Back – quickly created chaos as fans gathered around, and after 42 minutes, the police put an end to the matter. In 1970, the band broke up.

“Wow, it’s like coming home,” drummer Ringo Starr commented on revisiting 3 Savile Row.

The immersive experience, which will be called The Beatles at 3 Savile Row, should open its doors in 2027. Allegedly, the idea was first introduced by Tom Greene, CEO of Apple Corps since 2025, who worked on the Harry Potter franchise in the past.

Although not all details about the project have been unveiled just yet, fans will be able to visit a recreation of the basement studio where Let It Be was recorded and to relive the Beatles’ rooftop concert in the exact same spot. The Beatles at 3 Savile Row will also include a shop where fans can buy licensed Beatles products.

“Well, you go in on the ground floor, and there’s memorabilia and stuff like that. Then you work your way up through the building, and [see] various things that happened here and there, until you get to the top, where you go out on the roof and pretend to be a Beatle,” Paul McCartney summarised the experience.

The Beatles at 3 Savile Row will be the first The Beatles experience. Neither Liverpool‘s Beatles Museum nor the Beatles Story are officially licensed, while popular The Beatles spots such as Abbey Road are easily visitable but not necessarily adapted to the crowds that often gather around.

Flyers from the UK are facing at least 120 flight cancellations in May 2026 amid the ongoing Middle East fuel crisis. While the new figures from aviation analysts Cirium amount to a small proportion (only just over half a percent) of UK departures, even those cancellations have wiped approximately 26,570 seats from schedules. Around a quarter of the cancellations are from major London airports.

Worse, the cancellations include departures that were scheduled for the final week in May, coinciding with the traditional “Whitsun” holiday, one of the UK’s busiest times for travel. Globally, 1.5% of May flights were cancelled in the 11-day period between 10 and 21 April, representing a loss of two million seats. Looking forward to June, 36 outbound flights have already been slashed from UK timetables in the last week, cutting 7,972 seats.

Some of the world’s best-known airlines are among those issuing cancellations and forecasting financial impacts due to soaring fuel prices caused by the Israeli-US war on Iran and the ensuing blockade of vital transit in Strait of Hormuz. British Airways’ parent company International Airlines Group (IAG) has warned profits will be hit as it expects to likely take a two billion euro hit this year and that it is “taking the necessary action on yields, costs and capacity.”

Lufthansa Group has stood down 20,000 flights over a six-month period. Air France has predicted an increase in fuel costs of €2 billion for the year, and American Airlines has warned its fuel costs will be up by around $4 billion (€3.4 billion). AirAsia’s co-founder Tony Fernandez has said the situation is worse for aviation than the COVID-19 travel shutdown.

While travel industry stakeholders fear the fallout of the geopolitical uncertainty on consumer confidence, some commentators are emphasising that it is better for airlines to look ahead and cancel in advance rather than leave travellers stranded at the last minute.

Julia Lo Bue-Said, chief executive of Advantage Travel Partnership has pointed out that airlines are prioritising popular routes meaning core summer holiday destinations “remain unaffected.” She has insisted that, as a result, “customers can continue to book with confidence.”

However, Rory Boland, editor of consumer champion Which? Travel, said: “It is understandable that holidaymakers are feeling apprehensive about their summer travel plans due to the wave of cancellations.” He recommended that worried consumers choose package holidays that are covered by price protections in the event of disruption.

Responding to the crisis, the UK government has announced emergency rules allowing airlines to group passengers together to rationalise aircraft deployment and fuel consumption. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander has confirmed a national hedging strategy to bring in fuel from the US, as well as increasing UK refinery output.

In Europe meanwhile, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, has refused to declare special circumstances that would relieve airlines of their issued their obligations to passengers in the event of cancellations. The guidance obliges airlines to honour existing consumer protections and means they must continue to reimburse and assist passengers whose flights are affected. Only a localised fuel shortage under specific conditions would qualify as an exception to the rule.

Small pets are currently not allowed to travel in the cabin on most flights entering the UK, and that rule is now being challenged. A growing petition is calling on airlines to change their policies and allow animals to stay with their owners during the journey. The campaign has gained attention thanks to Peggy, a dog once named Britain’s ugliest. Her owner, Holly Middleton, has been sharing her travel experiences to highlight the issue. More than 13,000 people have already signed the petition, showing strong public interest.

Peggy, a pug and Chinese crested cross, has travelled widely and even appeared in the Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine. While she can sit in the cabin on some outbound flights from the UK, returning home is far more complicated. Current rules require pets to travel as cargo unless they are assistance animals or on private charter flights. As a result, many owners must look for alternative routes to re-enter the country. These journeys can involve combining flights, trains, and ferries, which often makes travel longer and more stressful.

Middleton says the system feels inconsistent, as pets are allowed in the cabin when leaving the UK but not when coming back. She has had to travel through European cities such as Amsterdam before taking a ferry home. According to her, all the required health checks and paperwork are already completed in advance. Allowing pets in the cabin would therefore not introduce new risks. Supporters also point out that several other countries already permit small animals in the cabin under strict conditions. They argue the UK should follow a similar approach while maintaining safety standards.

Not everyone supports the proposed changes. Organisations such as Allergy UK warn that animals in the cabin could pose health risks for some passengers. In a confined space like an aircraft, exposure to pets may trigger serious allergic reactions, including asthma attacks. Others are concerned about how animals might behave during a flight, especially if they become stressed or unsettled.

The UK government has acknowledged that many people want to travel with their pets in the cabin. At the same time, it stresses the importance of strict biosecurity measures and health checks at the border. Current regulations are designed to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure all animals entering the country meet safety requirements. The petition must reach 100,000 signatures before it can receive an official response. Until then, the debate is likely to continue among travellers, airlines, and policymakers.

The discussion comes at a time when travelling with pets has already become more complicated for UK residents. Since April 2026, pet passports issued in the UK are no longer valid for travel to the European Union. Travellers must now apply for an Animal Health Certificate for each trip. This document confirms that pets meet health requirements, including vaccinations, but it adds extra cost and preparation. It must also be arranged before every journey, which can be time-consuming.

Additional rules have further increased the complexity of travelling with animals between the UK and the EU. Pets must travel with their owner, or arrive within five days, and there are limits on how many animals can be transported at once. Travellers may also face longer waiting times at borders due to new entry systems and checks. Together, these changes have made international travel with pets more demanding.

British Airways (BA) has announced a crackdown on in-flight photography and recording in order to protect the privacy of its cabin crew, with passengers now explicitly banned from filming, capturing images of, or live-streaming BA staff without prior permission.

An update to Section 11a of the British flag carrier’s conditions of carriage covering acceptable conduct on board now states: “If, while you are on board the aircraft, we reasonably believe that you have filmed, live-streamed or photographed our crew or other colleagues without their consent, we may take any measures we think reasonable to prevent you continuing your behaviour.” Those measures could include potential removal from onward journeys and offending passengers being reported to law enforcement agencies.

New @British_Airways onboard announcement out of Singapore to London last night advising not to take pictures or videos of crew and passengers…..
— AndyBTravels (@AndyBTravels) April 28, 2026

The rise of social media and mobile phone cameras has meant an increase in incidents where members of the public photograph or film each other, and employees of firms they interact with—often during disputes or disagreements over antisocial actions or levels of service. The resulting footage often makes its way to social platforms, where commenters have been known to “pile on” or deluge accounts with criticism and hateful comments.

Tech giants such as Mark Zuckerberg have claimed that their products have contributed positively to the public arena by raising awareness of injustices and sharing information about movements like #MeToo and Black Lives Matter, which previously would have lacked a forum.

However, it could be argued that the advent of in-flight Wi-Fi services fast enough to allow streaming, including SpaceX’s Starlink, with whom BA has recently contracted, will encourage more people to generate controversial content, creating a legal minefield. Furthermore, recent tech developments that make it even easier for the public to film each other without the other person’s knowledge, such as Zuckerberg’s “Meta” glasses, have raised legal and ethical questions. The British Airways ban includes the use of such devices.

Usually, filming or image capture in a public place where people have no reasonable expectation of privacy is considered to be within the law, though perhaps not within “good practice” for professional photographers. The Independent, reporting on the latest from BA on this issue, notes that according to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), if filming or photography “does not endanger the safety of the cabin in any way”, then cabin crew and air captains have discretion over whether to allow the activity.
