El Al Israel Airlines is showing growing signs of impatience with the ongoing Middle East security situation due to continued missile fire and restrictions on operations at Ben Gurion Airport, and the lack of alternative connectivity.

The Israeli flag carrier said it would review “its continued operations” at Ben Gurion, following a Transportation Ministry order to reduce the capacity of flights departing Ben Gurion by half, dropping the cap from 120 passengers to only 50 passengers per takeoff. Israel’s Transportation Minister Miri Regev said the move was being made based on the recommendation of security officials. While there will be no upper limit on inbound planes, the number of departures and arrivals at Ben Gurion is being limited to just one per hour.

Following the Ministry of Transportation’s decision that led to a dramatic reduction in aviation activity – limiting our outbound flights to 15 per day and capping each departure flight at 50 passengers – we are updating that we will operate a small number of flights to several… pic.twitter.com/c81BXihqr9
— EL AL USA (@ELALUSA) March 23, 2026

Like other major world airlines, El Al has been forced to cancel thousands of passenger journeys since the start of the war. A whopping 25,000 customers were affected in the one week running up to the Pesach Passover Festival, a significant pilgrimage holiday. El Al has had to clarify that, due to the flight restrictions, customers whose flights have been wiped from schedules will not be permitted to rebook but will instead have the option of a full refund or a credit voucher for future El Al flights.

Commenting on the situation, El Al said it is calling for “the opening of the Ramon Airport as a supplemental alternative to Ben Gurion Airport, in order to preserve the flight activity and allow a response to the passenger public.”

Meanwhile, El Al’s rival and the second-largest Israeli carrier, Arkia, has issued similar remarks, noting that “under the current framework, regular aviation activity cannot be maintained, as it practically means the closure of Israel’s skies.” Arkia is already diversifying its schedules by switching to Egyptian and Jordanian hubs, as preparations go ahead “to transfer activity to the airports in Aqaba and Taba, to maintain aviation continuity as much as possible,” Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz confirmed.

A third main competitor in the Israeli aviation market, Israir, has annulled its flight schedule to 31 March and is closed to bookings until the end of the following month, in line with nearly all other major world carriers, which have also cancelled their schedules for the region until well into April. Some have gone further. British Airways will not be flying to most of the Middle East (Amman, Bahrain, Dubai, and Tel Aviv) until at least the start of June 2026, although flights to Doha could recommence on 30 April if the security situation allows.

Airport officials in Israel said on 10 March that almost 40% of Israelis who were stranded abroad when Israel and the United States launched air attacks on Iran remain unable to return.

Despite the closure of Israeli airspace due to retaliatory Iranian strikes, the majority of the over 60,000 who have made the journey came by air and land border crossings from Egypt and Jordan, according to the Israel Airports Authority. Limited repatriation missions and departures have taken place at Ben-Gurion Airport, which has partially reopened, bringing in an estimated 39,000 Israelis on over 200 flights.

Israeli carrier Israir repatriated 310 Israelis stranded in Dubai after airspace closures following the US-Israel offensive on Iran.

Two special flights departed Sharjah to Aqaba, Jordan.

Adding to the movement of people, since Israel and the US commenced their so-called “Operation Lion’s Roar” on 28 February 2026, 31,000 people have chosen to leave Israel via land border crossings.

Thousands remain unable to travel due to the cancellation of their flights, or shelter-in-place orders, or simply the soaring prices of the limited tickets available. Those whose tickets have already been refunded are obliged to seek new travel arrangements for travel in or out of the stricken region, in what is a very competitive marketplace with volatile fuel prices.

It has not yet been confirmed whether those with return journeys pre-booked before the violence began will be given priority when airspace re-opens. Some travellers have even booked private jets at fees more extortionate than ever.

Meanwhile, for carriers, the crisis has created chaos in addition to the constant danger of air strikes at Ben Gurion, after authorities there changed their minds about how many departures would be permitted, leading to passengers being informed they could attend the hub and get on a flight, only to be denied boarding on arrival.

Airlines have also been asked to prepare flight schedules in anticipation of the end of hostilities. The creation of such timetables is supposed to be rooted in prewar scheduling, but stakeholders have indicated that daily seat capacity will be increased, if possible, to reduce the waiting list. Contingency planning could include the deployment of wet-leased aircraft, but even if sufficient planes can be sourced for Israeli carriers from Arkia to El Al to Israir, staffing could remain the major obstacle to the provision of extra flights.

The Jerusalem Post has reported that some airlines could be considering the creation of “air bridges” connecting with locations such as Cyprus or Greece, some of the closest European territories to the Middle East. It remains to be seen how such plans could be negotiated, since being associated with proximity to the stricken region, coming under drone fire, and featuring in UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office alerts is already proving damaging to the tourism sector in Cyprus, Travel Tomorrow and other outlets have reported.

Chaos and confusion gripped Ben Gurion Airport after dozens of outbound passengers with valid tickets were unexpectedly denied boarding due to last-minute changes in wartime travel restrictions, according to media reports.

The incident occurred on Monday as Israel’s main international gateway was gradually resuming limited outbound flights following disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict with Iran. Passengers who arrived at the airport expecting to depart were informed at check-in counters that they would not be allowed to board, sparking confrontations with airline staff.

Police were called to the terminal to restore order as tempers flared among travelers who had already received confirmation for their flights. Footage from the airport showed crowds gathering around check-in counters, with security forces intervening to control the situation.

For decades, Benjamin Netanyahu insisted Israel was the safest place for Jews.

But now, as tensions escalate and w-rs continue, scenes of chaos are reportedly unfolding at Ben Gurion Airport.

Passengers trying to flee, check-in counters closing, and clashes breaking out… pic.twitter.com/GJyAYSKrY3
— Voice of Rabbis (@voiceofrabbis) March 10, 2026

The confusion stemmed from a sudden change in the permitted number of passengers on outbound flights. According to reports, Israel’s Transportation Ministry informed the national carrier El Al overnight that the maximum number of passengers allowed on some flights could be increased from 100 to 200. Based on that guidance, additional tickets were issued, and reservations confirmed for travellers seeking to leave the country.

However, hours later, the decision was reversed, and the passenger limit was reduced again, leaving airlines with more ticketed passengers than seats allowed under the regulations. As a result, some travellers who arrived at the airport with approved bookings were turned away at the last minute.

In response to the incident, the Transportation Ministry said it “reiterates that airlines are not permitted to carry more than 100 passengers on an outbound flight, in accordance with the guidelines of the Civil Aviation Authority and the defense establishment.”

Dean_Fisher_ pic.twitter.com/VWNGoTxD3X
— החדשות – N12 (@N12News) March 9, 2026

“Airlines need to comply with these procedures to maintain the safety and security of passengers,” the ministry added.

El Al said the airline was operating under constantly changing wartime instructions. “We are operating according to the Home Front Command’s guidelines, which are constantly being updated, and apologize for the inconvenience to the company’s customers,” the carrier said in a statement.

Priority for the limited seats was reportedly given to passengers whose flights had previously been cancelled or who were travelling for humanitarian reasons, leaving many others stranded at the terminal.

The incident took place a day after Israel began allowing a limited number of outbound flights following the partial reopening of the airport, which had primarily been handling inbound repatriation flights for Israelis stranded abroad after the airspace was closed during the conflict.

Authorities have not yet announced additional measures to prevent similar disruptions as flights gradually resume under strict security restrictions.

The Lufthansa Group has announced it will extend the suspension of all flights to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport until 2 April 2026, citing the ongoing security situation in the Middle East and continued airspace restrictions in the region.

The German aviation group, which includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and ITA Airways, said the decision follows a reassessment of the evolving geopolitical situation and the operational limitations affecting Israeli airspace.

Airlines including Lufthansa Group and Air France–KLM have extended flight suspensions to parts of the Middle East as regional conflict continues, affecting routes to cities such as Tel Aviv, Beirut and Dubai. #IranIsraelUS #AirplaneHunk
— EEO News (@Inter_eeo) March 10, 2026

Flight operations to Tel Aviv were initially halted on 28 February, when Israel closed its airspace after a joint United States and Israeli strike on Iranian targets triggered heightened regional tensions. The closure forced airlines across the world to suspend or divert flights while governments advised citizens in the region to monitor safety updates.

Flights halted as airspace restrictions continue

According to Lufthansa Group, the suspension applies to all services to and from Tel Aviv as well as connecting flights from the Israeli city to other destinations within the group’s network. While Israel has partially reopened its airspace for limited operations by domestic carriers, international airlines remain cautious as the security situation continues to evolve.

The disruption has affected several European routes, including the Brussels–Tel Aviv connection operated by Brussels Airlines, which is widely used by business travellers, expatriates and members of the diplomatic community travelling between Belgium and Israel.

Passengers affected by the suspension are being offered flexible rebooking options or full refunds. Travel management companies are advising travellers with urgent journeys to consider alternative routing through hubs such as Athens or Istanbul, which have maintained limited connectivity to Israel during the disruption.

Wider impact across the Middle East network

The airline group has also adjusted its broader Middle East schedule in response to security concerns and regional airspace restrictions. Flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Amman and Erbil remain suspended until at least 15 March, while services to Beirut are cancelled until 28 March and flights to Tehran remain suspended until 30 April.

Despite the reductions, some routes in the region continue to operate. Lufthansa and ITA Airways are maintaining flights to Riyadh, while Eurowings is continuing its scheduled services to Jeddah.

Tourism sector facing wider consequences

The aviation disruptions come as the broader travel and tourism sector faces mounting uncertainty due to the conflict. Analysts have warned that prolonged airspace closures and negative traveller sentiment could significantly impact tourism demand across the Middle East.

As reported by Travel Tomorrow, the conflict could result in between 23 and 38 million fewer travellers to the region in 2026, potentially leading to losses of between $34 billion and $56 billion in visitor spending.

For now, airlines are prioritising safety while monitoring developments closely. As the situation continues to evolve, carriers are expected to reassess flight operations regularly, with the resumption of international services likely to depend on improvements in regional stability and airspace access.

Starting from 28 March 2026, carrier American Airlines is scheduled to resume its direct flights between New York and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport. If the relaunch goes ahead, it will mark the end of a 2.5-year hiatus.

Since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on 7 October 2023, American Airlines’ flight route between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport had been temporarily cancelled. Previously, flights were scheduled to resume in September 2025, but that plan did not go through.

On Sunday 26 October 2025 and following the ceasefire deal between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, the carrier has announced it would resume its direct flights between the US and Israel starting from 28 March 2028, using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Tickets are on sale starting as of 27 October 2025.

Latest carrier to announce its return

Following the outbreak of the war on 7 October 2023, many international carriers had halted their operations to and from Israel. Israeli carriers El Al Israel Airlines, Arkia, and Israir thus practically became the only ones to be operating International routes. And with demand surpassing supply, this meant that airfares for flights to and from Israel were steep. El Al’s market share at the end of 2024 amounted to 44%.

Over time, many international airlines started to resume their operations in the region. Delta and United have already relaunched their flights in September and July, respectively, while British Airways, SAS, Swiss, and Iberia are scheduled to do so in the week of 27 October 2025, following the ceasefire. Air India should resume its flight schedule to Israel in December 2025, and Emirates should be back at Ben Gurion on 31 March 2026. Others, such as easyJet and Ryanair, have yet to announce their return.

Once American Airlines will have resumed its flights from JFK in March 2028, five carriers will provide direct flights between the US and Israel: El Al, Arkia, Delta, American Airlines, and United. While United Airlines currently flies from and to Newark, flight routes from Washington and Chicago will be added at the start of November 2025.

In the first nine months of 2025, passenger traffic at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv in Israel wen up by 25% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 13.6 million according to the Israel Airports Authority. As other carriers stepped in, El Al’s market share dropped to 32.5%.

Ryanair has announced it will not resume its low-fare flights to and from Tel Aviv this winter, citing that Ben Gurion Airport has refused to confirm the airline’s historic S26 (summer 2026) slot allocations or guarantee the continued availability of the low-cost Terminal 1 (T1) during future security issues.

According to the airline, its operations in Tel Aviv this summer were repeatedly disrupted by the airport’s decisions. Three times Terminal 1 was closed due to security concerns over Israeli airspace, forcing Ryanair to operate out of the more expensive Terminal 3. Low-fare seats priced on the assumption of T1 facilities thus became loss-making when the airline had to bear higher costs in T3.

In its statement, Ryanair expressed frustration with the unpredictability at Ben Gurion: “We are fed up having our low-fare flights repeatedly messed around by Ben Gurion Airport,” adding, “We are not willing to restart loss-making flights to/from Tel Aviv for the winter season, without the certainty that our summer 2026 historic slots have been confirmed.” If Ryanair’s cancellation of the winter schedule proceeds, it will eliminate approximately one million seats and 22 routes.

© CC BY 2.5 | Roni Pomerantz Pikiwiki Israel on Wikimedia Commons

As a possible solution, Ryanair agrees to temporarily move its operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 when required, but stressed that such services should be charged at T1 rates and not at T3.

The airline has put forward two conditions under which it is willing to return: confirmation of summer 2026 slots and assurances that the low-cost T1 would remain open. The company has made clear it will only restart its 22 low-fare routes when both conditions are met: “We will look forward to returning to Tel Aviv with Ryanair’s services, offering 22 routes at fares which no other airline in Tel Aviv can match, or compete with.”

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA), for its part, responded that Ryanair had been granted all requested slots for the 2025-26 winter season and that it stands ready to provide all necessary services to support passenger traffic. IAA confirmed that the flights are scheduled to depart from Terminal 1, “just as is the case with other low-cost airlines,” adding that “The terminal is open, functioning properly, and ready to receive Ryanair passengers tomorrow morning.”

“We regret to see that Ryanair continues to try to convince the public that there is a ‘problem’ in Israel – when the only problem is the company’s refusal to operate the flights it has committed to,” the IAA said.

“As many foreign carriers have already proven, it is possible to fly to Israel, even from Terminal 1, without turning it into a drama,” the IAA said. “We would be pleased to see Ryanair also choose facts over headlines.”

The airline’s return to Tel Aviv now depends on reaching a clear agreement between Ryanair and the Israel Airports Authority. Until all conditions are reassured and the dispute is settled, travellers seeking low-fare connections to Tel Aviv will not have access to Ryanair’s services.

Irish airline Ryanair is considering permanently dropping its flights to Israel, according to CEO Michael O’Leary, who blamed the potential total withdrawal from the Israeli market on constant uncertainty and lack of growth, rather than any political views about the ongoing violence in Gaza and the wider region.

Since October 2023, when the Islamic Resistance Movement known as Hamas attacked Israel from Palestine, leading to a new and unprecedentedly violent phase in the decades-long conflict between the two territories, international airline schedules to and from Israel have been disrupted.

Like a majority of carriers, Ryanair suspended flights due to security concerns and has previously said Israeli routes would not resume until October 2025, with O’Leary warning he was “losing patience” with the situation.

Now, though, he has gone further, indicating that resumption may not take place at all. Speaking to the press after Ryanair’s annual general meeting, he complained about airport charges at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, where only the more expensive main terminal (T3) is open, because the low-cost terminal (T1) has been closed as a result of the security situation since October 2024.

“There’s a real possibility that we won’t bother going back to Israel”, he said, adding, “Unless the Israelis get their act together and stop messing us around, frankly, we have far more growth elsewhere in Europe.” He went on to note: “This is going to be an ongoing issue for all airlines and all European citizens for the next number of years,” and clarified: “The risk is one of continuous disruption, rather than of safety.”

Authorities at Ben Gurion are not alone in attracting O’Leary’s ire. He has criticised airport operators all over Europe for their charges to airlines, threatening to cut schedules and focus on destinations where the cost to carriers is lower.

Accusing Spanish airport manager Aena of “excessive” fees, Ryanair announced in September it would cut its Spanish regional offer by 600,000 seats (41%), as well as slashing 400,000 seats in the Canary Islands (10%) over the winter of 2025. The move means 36 direct connections with Spain and the Canary Islands will thus be cancelled, and operations at three Spanish bases (Santiago, Tenerife North, and Vigo) will cease altogether over the coming months.

Similarly, Belgium has come in for a slating. At the end of August, O’Leary blamed “recklessly increased” airport charges among the highest in Europe at Belgium’s main airport at Brussels Zaventem, for a six per cent reduction in flights there. The carrier has also denounced Belgium’s 150% increase in aviation taxes, which are up from €2 to €5 per traveller.

Ben Gurion Airport has recorded its busiest day since the start of the war triggered by the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. According to the Israel Airports Authority, on Thursday, 14 August, more than 85,800 passengers passed through the airport on 502 international flights. Of these, around 43,700 travellers departed, while 42,100 arrived or returned.

This is the highest daily passenger total since 2023, when air traffic was still recovering from the impact of the pandemic. However, it remains below pre-war peaks: in August 2023, Ben Gurion handled around 2.8 million passengers, whereas this August the total is expected to reach 2.1 million.

The most popular destinations this summer are Greece, Cyprus, the United States and Italy. In order to handle the surge in passengers, the airport has reopened Terminal 1 for both international and domestic flights and has inaugurated a new 3,900-square-metre check-in and security screening hall in Terminal 3.

42,100… pic.twitter.com/k7X1t7x8Ie
— إسرائيل بالعربية (@IsraelArabic) August 14, 2025

Authorities have urged travellers to arrive three hours before their scheduled departure time, warning of long queues during peak hours, particularly before U.S.-bound flights at around 3 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. A dedicated website now offers real-time congestion level forecasts at the airport, ranked from ‘none’ to ‘record’.

Despite these preparations, ongoing disruption to international flights and limited capacity have pushed airfares to record highs. According to Israeli media reports, ticket prices this summer are up 61% compared to two years ago. Rome tops the list, with prices jumping by 119%, ranging from $259 to $567. Fares to Amsterdam and Berlin have increased by around 90%, while those to Bucharest, Budapest and Tbilisi have risen by 83% and 75% respectively. Fares to Bangkok are 57% higher.

Foreign airlines have been slow to resume operations, with most still running at reduced frequencies. Israeli carriers have stepped in to meet demand, accounting for 88% of bookings made in July with El Al, Israir and Arkia. Many passengers report feeling safer flying with domestic airlines, as they are considered less likely to cancel flights at short notice. This has resulted in unprecedented profits for Israeli carriers since the start of the war.

Several major international airlines are planning to return gradually. Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines resumed flights on 1 August, while Brussels Airlines restarted on 13 August with just two weekly flights. However, trade unions in Belgium have warned that they may refuse to handle baggage from flights to and from Tel Aviv. Wizz Air resumed flights on 8 August, initially serving Budapest and Larnaca, before expanding to other destinations.

Others remain cautious. United Airlines returned at the end of July with up to two daily flights, but low-cost carriers Ryanair and easyJet have postponed their return until 25 October. Delta has suspended its Tel Aviv flights until the end of August, while Air Canada and British Airways have extended their cancellations into autumn.

Israeli airspace was closed for 12 days in June after Iran launched barrages of ballistic missiles and drones – forcing most foreign airlines to suspend or extend their cancellations. On Monday, the Israeli Defence Forces intercepted a Houthi-launched ballistic missile from Yemen; the Houthis claimed they were targeting Ben Gurion Airport. Since March 18, they have launched 68 ballistic missiles and at least 18 drones at Israel. Although the skies have reopened and passenger volumes are rising, international aviation in Israel remains far from the normality seen before the war.

The world’s biggest airline group, Lufthansa Group, will party resume its flights to Israel as of 1 August 2025. Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines will be the first to reintroduce a regular flight schedule.

Since 4 May 2025, Lufthansa Group had suspended all flights to Israel due to a missile strike by the Houthi in Yemen which hit the Ben Gurion airport surroundings. Israel’s attack against Iran in mid-June once again delayed any possible reintroduction but the group has now shared flights will gradually take off again from 1 August 2025.

Although the Lufthansa Group comprises a multitude of airlines such as Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, only three are currently scheduled to start flying to Israel again.

Starting from 1 August, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will resume flights from Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna to Tel Aviv. From 13 August onwards, Brussels Airlines will resume flights from Brussels to Tel Aviv. The flight schedule shows 44 weekly flights to and from Israel operated by airlines of the Lufthansa Group.

“Following a thorough security assessment, Lufthansa Group airlines will resume flights to Tel Aviv from 1 August. Safety remains our highest priority. We continue to closely monitor the situation in the region and may adjust our flight schedule if necessary,” Brussels Airlines said in a statement.

However, Eurowings and Swiss won’t yet be resuming their flights to Israel. Eurowings, which normally operates flights between Tel Aviv and Hamburg and Düsseldorf, has extended the suspension of its flights until 25 October 2025. Initially, Swiss (operating beweten Zurich and Tel Aviv) had also suspended it flights until the end of October. The airline now plans to resume its flights to Israel at the end of September, although details have not yet been released.

Other airlines return to Israel

Recently, United Airlines already announced it would be resuming its flight schedule to Israel from its Newark hub to Tel Aviv. Two daily flights have been scheduled and the airline is thereby the first U.S. carrier to resume the transatlantic route. From 1 September 2025 onwards, Delta Air Lines is set to resume flying between New York to Tel Aviv.

Budget airline Wizz Air also announced to return to full-capacity in Israel by September, while the first flights will resume on August 8.

Hi, there. Flights to Tel Aviv (TLV) will resume on July 21, 2025.
“Operations are totally safe and secured right now. The situation can change, and it has changed a few times before, but we have a very robust system to monitor this from a safety and security perspective,” Chief Executive Jozsef Varadi told Reuters in an interview.

As Ryanair is only scheduled to return to Israel on 25 October and easyJet has suspended its flights to the region until March 2026, Wizz Air is very likely to be the first of the budget trio to retake its market share in Israel.

Since Israel’s attack on Iran and the ongoing retaliation, air traffic in the Middle East has been heavily impacted. Several airspaces have been closed, and airlines have cancelled flights to and from the region. On Sunday, 22 June, Israel reopened its airspace for a day, and starting from 23 June, a limited number of people will be allowed to either return to Israel or leave the country.

As the conflict between Israel and Iran escalated over the past week and a half, many people have found themselves stranded, both in Israel and abroad. Since the attack, Iran has been launching ballistic missiles at Israel on a near-daily basis, prompting strict security measures and flight restrictions. While some flights were exceptionally allowed to depart from and arrive in Israel, approximately 40,000 tourists were left stranded in the country, some of whom have already left via land or sea. According to Israeli airline El Al, they received about 25,000 applications to leave the country on Sunday, 22 June.

Tourists in Israel and Lebanon have found themselves stranded at airports amid Israel's conflict with Iran https://t.co/0kbxeeXKvT pic.twitter.com/fY3bhEMCAi
— Reuters (@Reuters) June 16, 2025

At the moment of Israel’s first attack on Iran, between 100,000 and 150,000 Israelis were stranded abroad. Since last week, El Al, Israir, and Arkia have already carried out some repatriation flights during daytime hours. Transportation Minister Miri Regev has said 84.000 Israeli citizens are still left stranded abroad, and the number of repatriation flights will be increased in order to get them home.

“We expect local airlines to operate 24 incoming repatriation flights arriving from global destinations flying Israelis home on Monday and on each of these flights taking off there will be a limit of 50 passengers leaving on outgoing planes. We need to limit the number of passengers on planes that are on the tarmac during this challenging period when the airport can be a target. I believe that by the weekend we will be able to weigh whether we are able to increase the number of passengers leaving on outgoing flights, as well as hours of flight operations, subject to the security situation and guidelines by the Home Front Command,” Regev told The Times of Israel.

Outbound flight guidelines

According to Israeli airline El Al, eight international destinations would be serviced on Monday, 23 June, in order to allow some of the 25,000 people who requested to leave to do so. Outgoing flights will solely leave from Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 3, and only passengers with a valid ticket will be allowed to enter the terminal. As all flights will be able to carry a maximum of 50 passengers, priority was given to life-saving, humanitarian, and national security cases.

Those whose flights have been cancelled since 13 June will be assigned to outbound flights at no extra cost, while El Al has set fixed ticket prices for all other passengers. One-way tickets to Larnaca will sell for $99, to Athens for $149, to Rome, Paris, and London for $299, to New York and Los Angeles for $795, and to Bangkok for $695.

Airline Arkia is scheduled to organise a total of six repatriation flights to Larnaca, Athens, Vienna, Rome, and Barcelona.

Passengers are advised to arrive by public transportation, about two hours before departure, to limit the number of people in the terminal. Cafés inside will be open, while duty-free shops will remain closed. Passengers will only be able to rebook a return flight ticket to Israel at least 30 days after their departure, according to Regev.
