In the following article I’ll tell you what the famous TikTok pasta is, how it’s made and what the whole TikTok pasta trend is about. First, you might wonder though, what TikTok is. If you already know, please scroll down directly to the recipe.

1. What’s TikTok?
So, TikTok is this not-so-new-anymore app that is full of cute animal videos, very talented and very untalented people singing, dancing, drawing, being funny, and of course, cooking. For younger people (no I’m not considered young anymore), it’s become more popular than Instagram, more fun and offering more opportunities.
At the beginning, the app was full of teenagers doing lip dubs I didn’t get, performing the same dance moves I’ve never seen before. I felt out of place, and well, old. Then, more and more people realised that THIS was their chance to become famous just by filming all kinds of bullshit. Stuff that people on Instagram would never care about, but the TikTok crowd would love.

However, to be fair, TikTok is a very good and powerful platform for businesses, small and bigger, for increasing their reach and customer base. The TikTok algorithm works very differently from the Instagram one. On Instagram you mostly need to follow people to see their content, while on TikTok the videos shown to you are much more tailored to your interests and what you’ve watched and liked before. So while Instagram to many influencers and companies feels like an insufficient, restraining tool at the moment, TikTok is the platform of endless possibilities. For example, I uploaded a video of making croissants. A shitty, dark, low-quality video. It got over four million views. 4 million. Why? Because people started discussing under my post how to properly pronounce ‘croissant’ and how many layers a croissant gets if you turn it three times. Also, apparently the fascination about my German accent was big, too. After four months now, and a minimum effort, I have almost 30k followers on TikTok. On Instagram I have 12k, after around 6 years. You do the math.
2. Recipe: The Famous TikTok Pasta
Congrats, you’ve gotten to the recipe bit of this article. Why is this recipe such a hype? I have no idea. My guess is that it’s easy, tasty and takes seconds at most to prepare. Choose great quality products, and you’ll get a very delicious dish.
Ingredients
- 250g pasta (whatever pasta you want, I like this with Spaghetti)
- 300g cherry tomatoes, washed
- Olive oil
- A block of Feta (200g)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ¾ tsp chili flakes
- 1 minced garlic clove
- Some fresh basil

Method
Toss the tomatoes with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Put them into a baking dish and place the Feta into the middle. Drizzle with olive oil, season the Feta with some pepper. Put everything into a 180C preheated oven, until tomatoes burst, char a bit and are soft. This will take about 25 minutes.
In the meantime, in a big pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and boil until ready.
Take tomatoes and Feta from the oven. Add the garlic, chili flakes, the pasta and mix well. Season with salt and pepper, serve with fresh basil and: done!
